The Philadelphia Flyers were handed some discouraging injury news Friday, announcing that forward Sean Couturier will miss approximately four weeks after suffering a lower-body injury.

Couturier left Thursday's game against the Nashville Predators late in the second period and didn't return. He also missed the three games leading up to the All-Star break with a lower-body injury.

The 23-year-old has been a steady presence for the Flyers, sitting fifth in team scoring with nine goals and 24 points in 40 games.

The loss will hurt the team's playoff chances, as Philadelphia currently sits four points out of the final wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference.
