Subban was sent back to AHL Providence on Thursday.
Analysis:
Subban served in the backup role while Jonas Gustavsson was sidelined with an illness, but will now rejoin the team's AHL affiliate following Gustavsson's activation off injured reserve Thursday. The 22-year-old former first-round pick has been decent with Providence this season, posting a 2.45 GAA and .913 save percentage in 26 appearances with the club. He didn't get any opportunities to play in his time with the Bruins, but could be recalled again later in the season should the club require another netminder.
