Prust was placed on waivers Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Analysis:

Prust's first season in Vancouver has largely been a disappointment, as the winger has just one goal and six assists through 35 contests. It's possible he sticks around with the Canucks, but it's unlikely the 31-year-old will take on a much larger role than he currently occupies.
