Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi was clearly unimpressed by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman's attempt to pressure the city into building a new arena for the Flames.

Nenshi did not hold back when asked about the comments Bettman made earlier Monday.

The Flames unveiled the CalgaryNEXT project, a $900-million plan to build new facilities for the Flames and the CFL's Calgary Stampeders, in August.

It is expected to require 12-to-24 months to complete.

The Flames' current arena, the Scotiabank Saddledome, is one of the oldest facilities in the NHL.
