Only the Montreal Canadiens have more wins to their credit (3,283), having first reached the milestone back in 2008.
The Bruins were the first American-based team to be added to the National Hockey League, joining the league on Nov. 1, 1924.
Center Ryan Spooner will go down as the game-winning goal scorer, while Jonas Gustavsson picks up the victory in net.
