Report: NHL, NHLPA to educate teams on domestic violence, sexual assault

The NHL and NHLPA will meet with all 30 NHL teams to help educate players about domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

The program will be administered by external professionals.

The NHL and NHLPA have been working on getting such a program in place since last season and previously hired the same professionals to speak to rookie players, according to Dreger.

Multiple NHL players have been connected to incidents of sexual assault and domestic violence over the past year, including allegations of sexual assault against Patrick Kane and Slava Voynov's domestic violence conviction.

The program launched Monday in Buffalo and is expected to run until late February.
