Connor McDavid resumes skating with Oilers
Connor McDavid's road back to the Edmonton Oilers' lineup has become a bit shorter.
The rookie phenom has resumed skating with teammates for the first time since breaking his clavicle, according to Mark Spector of Sportsnet.
McDavid, however, can only work on his footwork for the time being.
"Connor is not shooting yet," said agent Jeff Jackson. "The Oilers have a timeline, with different milestones where he can do certain things on the ice. He'll move towards puck handling soon. It will be up to the doctors and the therapists (when he begins to shoot pucks)."
McDavid missed his 20th game Thursday after suffering the injury back on Nov. 3. He was originally expected to be out months, and while that will still be the case, he certainly appears to be ahead of the curve.
In his first 13 NHL games, he recorded five goals and seven assists.
The Oilers have posted a record of 9-9-2 in his absence, and sit two points behind rival Calgary for third spot in the Pacific Division.
