Vancouver Canucks rookie Jake Virtanen suffered an upper-body injury in Monday's loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Though he's not expected to be available for coach Willie Desjardins on Tuesday versus the Los Angeles Kings, early indications suggest that he will not miss significant time.

Virtanen appeared to suffer the knock on an open-ice collision with Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf, which sent him tumbling down in discomfort.

The winger has four points on the season, but hasn't made a contribution to the scoresheet in seven games.
