Report: Islanders showing no 'urgency' to retain Okposo

Kyle Okposo's long-awaited payday is apparently not expected to come from the New York Islanders.
TSN's Darren Dreger reports that Islanders GM Garth Snow isn't appearing to show any urgency to retain the scoring power winger, who is scheduled to finally reach unrestricted free agency this summer after his eighth full season in the NHL.
Dreger adds that despite the fact Okposo ranks second in scoring on a team with real postseason aspirations, he could join defenseman Travis Hamonic as potential mid-season trade bait.
Okposo is closing in on 350 career points, but has earned short of $16 million in his career.
