Edmonton Oilers winger Nail Yakupov was injured and helped off the ice in fairly significant distress after a bizarre scene involving a linesman in Wednesday's game versus the Carolina Hurricanes.

The linesman grabbed Yakupov after losing balance while backing out of the faceoff circle, and landed dangerously on the winger's leg caught underneath.

The ill-fated moment came on the same night Yakupov scored his 100th career point - which does well to sum up his cursed career so far.

The Oilers did not offer an update on Yakupov's injury after the eventual 4-1 loss.
