The Ottawa Senators have participated in a league-leading six shootouts this season. Jean-Gabriel Pageau hasn't been used once, but he'll undoubtedly be considered moving forward.
Pageau scored a shorthanded breakaway goal early in the third period of Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars. He wasn't done there.
The 23-year-old found himself in all alone once again and undressed Stars goaltender Antti Niemi for his second breakaway goal of the period to put the game out of reach.
Pageau finished with three points to lead the Senators to a 7-4 win.
Pageau has scored twice in one game for the first time in his NHL career. His three points tonight in Dallas also sees him set a new high.
