Holland is in the doghouse in Toronto, reports Sportsnet 590 The FAN, and he may soon find himself on waivers. He is struggling in the face-off circle at a time when the Maple Leafs centers to step up their game.

Analysis:

He was a healthy scratch on Saturday. And Tuesday, he was the first guy on the ice with the goalies to help them get focused work. When the rest of the team appeared, Holland was the odd-man out and ended up watching most of the practice. He only saw occasional drill time when he filled in on spot duty now and then. Coach Mike Babcock has been impressed with call-up center Byron Froese. Tyler Bozak is expected back off IR later in the week and Jake Gardiner won't be far behind. There just won't be enough roster spots to go around and Holland will be in tough to keep his, at least for now.
