Fontaine (oblique) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday, Michael Russo of the Star Tribune reports.
Analysis:
After scoring nine goals and 22 assists last season, he's missed the beginning of the season with an oblique injury. With that in the rear-view mirror, Fontaine is set to play in his first NHL action of the season on Thursday against the Coyotes. He replaces Tyler Graovac on the active roster, who is headed to the IR himself.
