The NHL and NHLPA are considering making a change to the league's drug testing protocol, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman:
Right now, there are 2,400 tests for performance-enhancing drugs. Only one-third (800) are also screened for recreational drugs. The idea is to make the rest eligible for such testing, as well.
The news comes in the wake of Rick Westhead's piece on cocaine use in the league.
