Animal rights groups will congregate outside the Honda Center on Monday to protest against Anaheim Ducks defenseman Clayton Stoner and bring attention to his involvement in an unlawful killing of a grizzly bear.
Stoner was charged with five counts - including hunting without a license and the unlawful possession of dead wildlife - in his native British Columbia this summer for his part in killing a bear well-known to the indigenous population on the central coast of the province in 2013.
Some 80-100 protesters from a variety of groups are expected to attend the rally and call for his suspension ahead of Anaheim's home opener.
Stoner is due in court next Nov. 13.
