The Carolina Hurricanes have lost James Wisniewski to injury during their season opener.
The defenseman went down early in Thursday's game against the Nashville Predators after an awkward collision with Viktor Arvidsson along the boards.
Wisniewski was helped off the ice and into the locker room.
The Hurricanes later called it a lower-body injury and confirmed he won't return.
