Devils sign 6th overall pick Pavel Zacha to entry-level deal

The New Jersey Devils have agreed to terms with forward Pavel Zacha on a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Devils selected Zacha with the sixth overall pick in June's NHL Entry Draft.

The club had until Saturday at 5 p.m ET to sign the 18-year-old, or he would have been ineligible to play in 2015-16.

Devils general manager Ray Shero said last Monday that he planned to work on getting the deal done last week.

The contract is bonus-laden, according to Tom Gulitti of The Record:

Zacha is under contract with Bili Tygri Liberec of the Czech Extraliga for one more season, but the Devils will not be required to pay a $100,000 transfer fee after negotiating with the club.

Zacha scored 16 goals and added 18 assists in 37 games with the OHL's Sarnia Sting in 2014-15.
