Chicago Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz offered a brief comment Sunday on the ongoing police investigation involving Patrick Kane.

"We're disappointed but hopeful," Wirtz told The Chicago Tribune. "Beyond that, it would not be appropriate to expound upon."

Police in Hamburg, N.Y., are investigating Kane over an alleged incident that took place earlier this month. Police chief Gregory Wickett said Friday that the department is gathering information and awaiting forensic test results.

No charges have been filed against the Blackhawks forward.

Kane's attorney, Paul Cambria, refuted a Buffalo News report Sunday in which sources with knowledge of the investigation described the accuser's condition and provided more details about the allegations.

"There have been all sorts of statements made that are completely inaccurate," Cambria told Erik Brady of USA Today.

"These things are being said as if they are facts. I am not going to participate in that stuff. When the time comes, I will respond to things, but I am not going to participate at this time in this whole media thing that is going on."

Kane spent Saturday – his day with the Stanley Cup – privately among family.
