Forward Dainius Zubrus cleared waivers Thursday, and his contract - with one year and $3.1 million remaining on it - has officially been bought out by the New Jersey Devils, according to multiple reports.

Despite the setback, the 37-year-old said he still dreams of winning the Stanley Cup, and appears set to pursue work elsewhere.

Zubrus has recorded 225 goals and 584 points in 1,243 career games.
