David Steckel signs contract with Nurnberg Ice Tigers in German Elite League

David Steckel signed a contract Wednesday with the Nurnberg Ice Tigers of the German Elite League.

Analysis:

The 33-year-old served as a depth forward for the Ducks at AHL Norfolk last season, producing seven goals and 23 points in 76 games. Steckel is a veteran of 425 games, but considering his age and his impending move to Europe, we may have seen the last of him in North America.
