The Nashville Predators have been down this road before.

With forward Colin Wilson's arbitration hearing set for Tuesday, the two sides are believed to be $1.25 million apart in contract talks.

The player is seeking $4.25 million, while the team is offering $3 million, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

It's a similar situation to the one the Predators faced with Craig Smith, who agreed to terms on a five-year, $21.25-million deal in advance of his hearing.

Wilson, 25, set career highs in goals (20), points (42) and shots (172) in 2014-15, and scored five goals in the club's six playoff games.

He was drafted seventh overall by the Predators in 2008.
