The Philadelphia Flyers have signed defenseman Michael Del Zotto to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday.

The extension, which will run through the season, is worth a reported $7.75 million over two years, according to the Courier-Post's Dave Isaac.

Del Zotto, 25, had his best campaign since 2011-12 last season, recording 10 goals and 22 assists in 64 games.

The blue-liner was the final piece of business to settle on the restricted free agent front for general manager Ron Hextall, although a long-term deal for Jakub Voracek is still being discussed.
