Kostitsyn signed a two-year contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL on Monday, Igor Eronko of Sport-Express reports.

Analysis:

Kostitsyn was reportedly considering pursuing a return to the NHL this summer, but it appears as though he may not have garnered enough interest from NHL teams in order for that to come to fruition. He may, however, attempt to return to the NHL again in 2016-17, as the second year of his two-year deal with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL is a player option, meaning he could opt out of the contract in order to make a return to the NHL.
