If everyone gets their way, the Washington Capitals and restricted free agent Evgeny Kuznetsov should have a deal in place soon.

Kuznetsov and the team have been in talks about a new deal that could be in the range of two-to-three years, according to Alex Prewitt of the Washington Post.

"I think we have had a good dialogue," Kuznetsov's agent told Prewitt.

The 23-year-old is coming off his first full season with the club, where he managed 11 goals and 37 points in 80 games. He showed his true value in the postseason, however, where he matched Alex Ovechkin for a team-high five goals to go along with two assists in 14 games.
