Blackhawks sign David Rundblad to 2-year extension

The Chicago Blackhawks have reinvested in David Rundblad, signing the bottom-paring defenseman to a two-year extension.
Rundblad will earn an average of $1 million each season throughout the life of the deal, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Rundblad made 49 starts in the regular season, but despite the team's clear shortage on the blue line during the playoffs, he served primarily as a scratch in the team's latest run to the Stanley Cup.
To that, he was also the most sheltered defenseman on Chicago's roster, but Rundblad clearly has enough backing, having the partnership extended by two seasons.
