Washington Capitals farmhand Patrick Wey will retire after suffering his latest concussion, reports Mike Vogel from the team's official website.
Wey, the 115th selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, made nine starts his NHL career, all coming in the 2013-14 season. He was limited to three games with the Hershey Bears last season.
He spent four seasons at Boston College after being drafted as a member of the Waterloo Black Hawks.
Wey will pursue other educational interests in retirement.
