Flames' Bennett warns McDavid, Crouse about pull-up bar at NHL combine

Calgary Flames forward Sam Bennett is proving to be quite the mentor for prospects Connor McDavid and Lawson Crouse.

A year after Bennett was scrutinized at the NHL Combine for failing to complete even one pull-up, he sent a warning to McDavid and Crouse on Twitter as the NHL Scouting Combine continues in Buffalo.

McDavid laughed about the tweet when he spoke to reporters Friday, suggesting it might not be too big of a deal.

"Of course I don't want to get zero by any means, but you look at a guy like Sammy and what an unbelievable year he had," said McDavid. "I think his combine experience is long gone or forgotten."

Despite failing to do a pull-up, Bennett was chosen fourth overall by the Flames. For McDavid, the number of pull-ups he can do is unlikely to hurt his draft stock.
