After being warned nearly three weeks ago that she could be tried for contempt, the wife of Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov said she still won't testify against her husband.
Marta Varlamova stands by her husband in the domestic violence case against him where it is alleged Voynov punched and kicked her before shoving her into a flat screen TV.
"She is still overwhelmed by the idea of testifying and does not want to testify," her attorney, Michael Walsh, told the Daily Breeze.
Varlamova has been receiving counseling which was suggested by the NHLPA in hopes it will persuade Varlamova to speak out against her husband.
The trial against Voynov is scheduled to begin July 8.
