Zane McIntyre is officially a member of the Boston Bruins.

The former North Dakota goaltender is leaving the NCAA program to join the NHL club, new Bruins general manager Don Sweeney announced Wednesday.

McIntyre's departure was first reported by Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman last week.

The 22-year-old McIntyre was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, won by Jack Eichel. He went 29-10-3 with a 2.05 goals-against average and a .929 save percentage in 42 games, leading North Dakota to the Frozen Four.

McIntyre was drafted in the sixth round by the Bruins in 2010.
