The Washington Capitals' seemingly never-ending quest to acquire a wing to play opposite superstars Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom will perpetuate into free agency this summer.
General manager Brian MacLellan told reporters Monday that satisfying the first-line, right wing position and providing the top unit with stability is a priority on the Capitals' offseason to-do list.
MacLellan will have to be mindful, though, considering his misstep in the mid-season trade window. The Capitals packaged a second- and third-round pick in June's draft for Calgary Flames winger Curtis Glencross, who will walk this summer after failing to crack the postseason lineup on four occasions.
