Islanders owner pens letter urging fans to carry on traditions in Brooklyn

New beginnings, old traditions.
New York Islanders owner Charles Wang issued a letter in Friday's Newsday, thanking fans for their loyalty throughout the decades at Nassau Coliseum and encouraging them to continue practicing their long-standing traditions in Brooklyn.

The Islanders spent 43 years in Nassau County, lifting three Stanley Cups on home ice before it was removed for the final time earlier this week.
Wang's letter proves to be aptly-timed, considering the happenings inside Nassau on Friday:
