Analysis:

Smith is coming off a tough year in which he posted just a 3.14 GAA and .904 save percentage -- both the worst rates he's produced in his four years in Arizona. The team in front of him was truly terrible (the Coyotes gave up more than 200 shots more than they took at even strength this year) and Smith couldn't make up the difference. Perhaps time at the Worlds playing with a stronger cast will help him to put this season behind him.
