Max Domi will have to wait a little bit longer for that pro hockey pay.

The Arizona Coyotes will not summon the former first-round draft pick from junior to play out the rest of the season in the American Hockey League with the Portland Pirates.

"Max is a little banged up from his recent playoff series, and we have decided rest/rehab is more important at this time than finishing his playing season in Portland," general manager Don Maloney announced.

Domi was forced to sit Game 2 of the London Knights' second-round series with Connor McDavid's Erie Otters, who needed just four games to advance past the perennial Ontario Hockey League powerhouse.
