Benn, Ovechkin, Price finish season as statistical leaders

Jamie Benn, Alex Ovechkin and Carey Price are all guaranteed hardware at this year's NHL Awards.

Benn leapfrogged John Tavares with 10 points in his final three games to capture the Art Ross Trophy as the league's scoring leader. The 25-year-old Dallas Stars captain set career-highs in goals (35) and points (87).

Ovechkin finished with 53 goals to run away with the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy. The Washington Capitals captain had at least 10 more goals than anyone else in the league - a fitting gap for a player claiming his fifth goal-scoring title in his 10th season.

Price was far-and-away the best goaltender over the course of 2014-15, leading the Montreal Canadiens to an Atlantic Division title with a franchise-record 44 wins and a league-best goals-against average (1.96) and save percentage (.933).

Price will share the William M. Jennings Trophy with Corey Crawford of the Chicago Blackhawks. The only goaltending category Price didn't capture was shutouts, where he tied for second with nine behind Pittsburgh Penguins netminder Marc-Andre Fleury, who had 10.

As for other awards, Calgary Flames forward Jiri Hudler could be in line for the Lady Byng Trophy after recording just 14 penalty minutes to go with his career-high 31 goals and 76 points. Hudler is likely to face competition from players like Logan Couture (12 penalty minutes) and perennial contender Pavel Datsyuk, who had eight penalty minutes in 63 contests.
