Toews will not skate Saturday against the Avalanche in the Blackhawks' regular-season finale, Scott Powers of ESPN Chicago reports.

Analysis:

There's no need to put Toews on the ice with the playoff opponent solidified, as the Blackhawks will take on the Predators in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Blackhawks will also rest two of their other stars in defenseman Duncan Keith and goalie Corey Crawford. Toews finishes the regular season with 28 goals and 38 assists, numbers very similar to the marks he posted last season (28 goals and 40 assists).
