In a season with many more lows than highs, Toronto Maple Leafs fans could use some good news.
Well they got some Thursday. With the Carolina Hurricanes defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1, the Maple Leafs clinched 27th place in the league.
What that means is the Maple Leafs will have a 9.5-percent chance of winning the first overall pick in this year's draft, which will presumably be Erie Otters superstar Connor McDavid.
Don't worry Leaf fans, the heartache will all be over Saturday after the team's final game against the Montreal Canadiens.
