Capitals sign Travis Boyd to 2-year entry-level deal

The Washington Capitals have signed forward Travis Boyd to a two-year entry-level contract that begins next season.
Boyd spent four seasons at the University of Minnesota, scoring 19 goals and adding 22 assists in 32 games in 2014-15.
He won a gold medal with the United States at the World Under-18 Championship in 2011, tallying six points in six games.
Boyd was a sixth-round draft pick of the Capitals in 2011. He will join the AHL's Hershey Bears on a tryout agreement.
