Predators clinch postseason berth with win over Capitals

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA TODAY Sports

The Nashville Predators won't be backing into the Stanley Cup playoffs.

With a 4-3 triumph over the former Barry Trotz-led Washington Capitals, their fourth in a row, Nashville became the second team to clinch a postseason berth and are the first to nail down a spot in the Western Conference gauntlet.

It will be their first playoff appearance in three seasons. They last participated in the 2012 tournament, defeating the Detroit Red Wings in five game before suffering the same defeat to the Arizona Coyotes.

Tickets are on sale now. You wouldn't want fans of the Chicago Blackhawks to snatch them up, would you?
