Rangers 1st NHL team to clinch playoff berth

The New York Rangers are the first club to book a spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
New York needed a win over the Ottawa Senators and a Boston Bruins loss to qualify.
The Rangers thumped the Senators 5-1 and the Anaheim Ducks earned a 3-2 overtime win over the Bruins.

The Rangers advanced to the Stanley Cup Final last season, losing to the Los Angeles Kings in five games.
