Nathan Beaulieu did everything he could to line up Andrew Ladd for a massive hit - he just forgot to actually make contact.
The Montreal Canadiens defenseman took exception to a hit that landed Ladd in the penalty box for boarding during the second period of Thursday's game. Beaulieu tracked down the Winnipeg Jets captain after the penalty expired and tried to send him into next week with a massive open-ice hit.
But he missed, and hilarity ensued.
