Flyers lose Simmonds, MacDonald for rest of regular season with injuries

Philadelphia Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds will miss the final seven games of the regular season after suffering a lower-body injury in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Defenseman Andrew MacDonald will also miss the remainder of the regular season after suffering an upper-body injury in the game.

Both players were injured after being hit by shots in the third period.

Simmonds has a fractured left leg and MacDonald has a broken right hand, CSN Philadelphia's Tim Panaccio reports. Simmonds finishes with 28 goals and 22 assists, while MacDonald chipped in 12 points in 58 contests.
