Chris Culligan of the Cardiff Devils submitted his bid for goal of the year during a game in the UK's Elite Ice Hockey League on Wednesday.
Culligan took a lead pass but was knocked to his knees before he could reach the net. He spun around while on his knees and maintained possession of the puck, knocking it into the net as he was pushed to the ice.
Culligan's effort comes days after a dazzling goal was scored in German tier 3 hockey.
