Todd Bertuzzi leaves Senators' AHL affiliate following knee injury
It appears as though Todd Bertuzzi's NHL comeback attempt is all but over, at least for the time being.
The rugged, veteran forward has left the Ottawa Senators' AHL affiliate to have his knee examined after injuring it during his second game with Binghamton, Ottawa's assistant general manager Pierre Dorion announced Tuesday.
Bertuzzi was playing with the minor-league club on a professional tryout, and while the Senators are keeping the door open for his return, it's not expected that he will head back to Binghamton.
He failed to record a point and was a minus-3 in two AHL games.
