The Boston Bruins will keep David Pastrnak in the NHL beyond his ninth game, which means this season will count on his entry-level deal.

It was assumed Boston would send their 2014 first-round pick to the AHL after nine games in order to preserve an extra year of salary control, but Pastrnak seemingly forced Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli's hand with his strong recent play. The 18-year-old has four goals in three games since returning from the 2015 World Junior Championship.
