Mikael Backlund underwent a procedure to repair an abdominal injury Wednesday that has sidelined him since the end of October.
The Calgary Flames are 7-4-0 in November without Backlund in the lineup. Backlund led all Flames forwards in short-handed ice-time before being placed on injured reserve.
