Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Roman Polak left the ice in considerable discomfort after getting tangled up with Detroit Red Wings forward Tomas Tatar in the second period of Saturday's game.

Polak was not putting any weight on his left leg after he and Tatar went into the corner boards awkwardly. Tatar was no worse for wear from the collision and scored his ninth goal of the season seconds later.

The Toronto Maple Leafs PR Twitter account confirmed Polak's lower-body injury. He will not return to the contest.
