It didn't take Chicago Blackhawks prospect Adam Clendening very long to make an impact at the NHL level.
Eighty seconds into his NHL career, the Blackhawks defender, who made his NHL debut Thursday night against the Calgary Flames, beat Jonas Hiller with a heavily screened point shot. The shot was hard and accurate, and the celebration was adorable:
Clendening, 22, was a second-round pick of the Blackhawks at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. In 163 games with the Rockford IceHogs over the past three seasons, he's managed an astounding 109 points.
That .67 points-per-game rate would be solid for a forward, but for a defenseman? Let's just say it's not surprising that he's already made a mark on the NHL.
