If the Buffalo Sabres could play the San Jose Sharks every game, they'd be unstoppable.
The last-place Sabres defeated the Sharks 4-1 at First Niagara Center on Tuesday night, buoyed by three points from Brian Gionta and a pair from Brian Flynn.
It was the eighth straight win by Buffalo over San Jose - a franchise record - and the second time this season that the Sabres have beaten the Sharks. Buffalo topped San Jose 2-1 at the SAP Center on Oct. 25.
The Sabres are now 16-1-0 all time against the Sharks at home.
It was the fifth win of the season for Buffalo. Through 20 games, the Sabres (5-13-2) have the worst record in the NHL with a league-low 12 points.
The Sabres now need to figure out how to beat their other opponents, as they won't face San Jose again this season.
