Exciting Dallas Stars power forward Valeri Nichushkin underwent a successful operation on Tuesday. The surgery is aimed at fixing some persistent hip discomfort that has dogged the 19-year-old Russian-born right wing all season.

Val Nichushkin had successful hip surgery in New York and will remain there for a few days. He is expected to be out four months.

Nichushkin has appeared in only four games this season, and has yet to record the first point of his sophomore NHL campaign.
