Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno is returning to the lineup sooner than initially expected.

Foligno practiced Thursday and should be in the lineup when the Blue Jackets face the Toronto Maple Leafs, the club announced Friday.

He was stretchered off during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings after colliding with linesman Shane Heyer along the boards.

Foligno said the injury was merely a stinger. He had hoped to play Tuesday but was held out, and an MRI revealed no structural damage to his neck.
